Prohibited Behaviours
The following behaviours are strictly prohibited at IMPACT Australia:
- Violent or aggressive behaviour toward others.
- Inappropriate sexualised physical contact of any kind.
- Inconsiderate behaviour late at night that disrupts the rest and well-being of others.
- Harassment, discrimination, or bullying.
- Deliberate safety violations that place oneself or others at risk.
- Possession or use of illicit substances or intoxication at any event activity.
Boundaries and Respect
Participants are expected to:
- Relate to each other, event staff, and the communities we serve with courtesy and respect.
- Follow the directions of event leaders and staff, especially in matters of safety, scheduling, and group transport.
- Conduct themselves in a well-mannered, thoughtful way that reflects the spirit of service and Christian witness.
Accountability
If a participant witnesses behaviour that concerns them or feels unsafe, they are encouraged to speak promptly to an Event Leader or a member of the organising team.
All concerns will be handled discreetly and appropriately in line with the Safe Places Services guidelines of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Consequences
In the event of misconduct:
- Verbal Warnings may be issued for minor breaches.
- Immediate removal from the event may occur for serious or repeated breaches.
- Exclusion from future events may be considered where appropriate.
- Serious or reportable conduct will be referred to the relevant authorities, including the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and/or the Police, where required.
